Music has always been an important part of my life. Before my brain aneurysm I played the guitar and trumpet but since my injury I have taken up the keyboard. I have been playing the keyboard for over 7 years with my teacher and friend John Marino and play with my right hand and one finger of my left hand. One day about 2 years ago, my father asked me what I wanted to do with my life and I told him that I wanted to work with music and children. We expanded the idea to include all people with disabilities. I saw how much music helped me and wanted to share the magic of music with others.
We started the program at Daniel's Music Foundation on February 26, 2006 and it has expanded ever since. The first semester we started with one class and now we have eleven classes. We have over 50 people taking keyboard, voice and rhythm classes and also have a music lab where people can experiment and jam. All the classes are free for anyone with a disability. I love what I am doing and enjoy seeing the members make progress and have fun.
